Malcom X

Malcolm X was a great man. He was born in 1925 at Omaha Nebraska. Malcolm X had three brothers which died from white men. Malcolm's father was white and he died in 1931. After that Malcolms mom had a nervous breakdown and was illegally crazy. So Malcolm and his brother and sisters all went to different foster homes. Malcolms mom stood in the hospital for 26 years. When Malcolm graduated from jr high school, he was the top kid in the class. He droped out though because his favorite teacher said that "it wasn't a goal for an African American to be a lawyer". After that he moved to live with his half sister that was in Boston. Her name was Ella Little Collins.
Malcolm X then moved to New York in 1943. He then worked as a shoeshiner at a nightclub. He was a shoeshiner for a long time, but then he got addicted to drugs and gambling. His friends call him "Detroit Red". Malcolm then was going to be drafted but he was said to be mentally challenged, so he was not drafted. On 1952 Malcolm went to meet Elijah Muhammad. Which Muhammad was in Chicago and Malcolm added the X to his name. Malcolm then left his sister and went to live in Chicago with Muhammad. In 1954 he became the leader of the Nation of Islam's temple number 7.
More people started to find out about Malcolm and they came to listen to his speeches. He also opened more temples and he expanded the amount of members that the temple had. In 158 Malcolm became married to Betty X. They had 6 kids which were all daughters. Also two of the kids which were the youngest were born when Malcolm died. He then left the Nation of Islam's temple and went on to learn about the Orthodox Islam. Malcolm then started traveling, he went to Africa, Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria, and Ghana. He also spoke on television and the radio. Malcolm then returned to New York in May 21,1964.
He also said in one of his speeches that "when you see a nonviolent racist, he will be nonviolent and until then you teach these white people to become nonviolent". In 1964 he went to give a speech in France. The Nation of Islam wanted to kill Malcolm. In 1963 a member of the Nation of Islam told Malcolm that he was sent to kill Malcolm. On 1965 Malcolms house was burned down but him and his family survived. On February 21, 1965 Malcolm was giving a speech when a guy yelled get out of my pockets. A man rushed foward and shot Malcolm in the chest. Then two other men came and shot Malcolm. Malcolm was shot 16 times.
Some of the people that were in the crowd became mad and beat the killers. Malcolm was announced dead when he was being rushed to a hospital. Malcolm's body was available for people to see. About 14,00-30,000 people visited his funeral and saw his body. On February 26, 1965 someone gave a speech about Malcolm X and they said that he was there "shining black prince". Some people want to remember Malcolm and write him in the history. Also people will say that they will honor this captain. Also some people say to turn away from Malcolm and that he was evil. Then the people will reply "did u ever talk to Malcolm, did u touch him, and did u listen to him????
